Using biblical principles to save lives is the eligibility criteria for the local ministries that have been recognized and rewarded in the four quarterly gatherings this year sponsored by United Madison Christian Givers, the organization that evolved and merged a year ago from the Madison Christian Giving Fund and United Madison.
The fourth and final Grant Award Event of 2025 was held October 28th at the InterVarsity building. Six pre-selected ministries presented their mission and were rewarded with financial support to further their work.
When the votes of the 40 members were counted, the top three ministries were awarded checks of $5700 apiece.
Angel Cars serves low-income families, single mothers, and veterans with safe, reliable vehicles. “Reliable transportation means families can keep jobs, care for children, and meet essential commitments,” said founder Michael Jahn. After seven years of ministry, Angel Cars finally secured its own facility last year.
Mercy Dental Mission provides compassionate, life-changing dental care for those in need, especially for those involved in Christian ministry and low-income families. “We relieve pain and restore dignity in Jesus’ name,” said executive director Krysta Wetzel. Formerly known as Affordable Dental Care, this ministry has been in Madison for eight years, and share’s God’s love by offering free Bibles, Scripture displays, and opportunities for prayer and encouragement along with reduced fees and other financial help for essential treatment.
Our Lady of Hope Clinic has been providing compassionate, pro-life medical care freely for uninsured individuals since 2009. Open registrations are held twice daily on a first-come, first-served basis. “In the last four years, demand has increased dramatically,” said Development Director Blaine Heckimovich.
The three ministries that were not the top vote getters received checks of $1000 apiece.
The Collaboration Project is working to unite Christians in Madison across denominations to love the community in the name of Jesus. “There are 300+ churches in Dane County, unaware of each other and how we serve the community,” said Becca Feldhacker, Director of Engagement. “We exist to support the Dane County Church.”
Northside Christian Assembly is presenting Fall Fest, a commuity outreach event to share the love and message of Jesus with Madison’s northside community.
Safe Families for Children is developing 1000 Generations, a new nonprofit ministry, by partnering with local churches and organizations to support families in crisis. “We are the church, living out the Gospel,” said director Bethany Bernard.
United Madison Christian Givers is made up of volunteers and members from Madison area churches. All donations go directly to local ministries. United Madison Christian Givers invites the Madison Christian community to a night of Testimony, Impact and God’s Work in Action on Tuesday, December 9 at Barnwood Events. Grant Recipients of 2025 will report on their work and preparations for 2026 will be announced at this fundraiser event.
