By Madison 365 – Impact Christian Academy has announced the appointment of Jerome Flowers as its new principal. Flowers brings more than 20 years of experience in education and student support, along with a deep commitment to Christ-centered leadership and whole-child development. Flowers joins Impact Christian Academy at a time of continued growth for the school, which recently moved into its new Verona facility and is expanding enrollment and programming, according to a press release from Impact Christian Academy, and he has a background across elementary, middle, and high school settings positions. Churches throughout the Madison area are co-hosting a fourth annual Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service on Monday, November 24th at 6:30 p.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish on Owen Drive. The service will begin with a 6:15 pm prelude and include members of the Catholic, Evangelical, and mainline Protestant communities. The event offers an opportunity to celebrate Thanksgiving by praising God for our many blessings, celebrating what we share in common in Christ and supporting those among us in need. Using biblical principles to save lives is the eligibility criteria for the local ministries that have been recognized and rewarded in the four quarterly gatherings this year sponsored by United Madison Christian Givers, the organization that evolved and merged a year ago from the Madison Christian Giving Fund and United Madison. The fourth and final Grant Award Event of 2025 was held October 28th at the InterVarsity building. Nationally recognized Christian Hip Hop artists Steven Malcolm and George.Rose are headlining an afternoon of music at Madison’s Olin Park this coming Saturday, September 27. The concert runs from 11:00 am to 5:00pm, and will also include local artists. Clear Hits Radio, an internet radio station is sponsoring this concert, with financial support from United Madison Christian Givers. In a message at the beginning of the 2025 fall semester, the University of Wisconsin urged students to review their class schedule and “note with your instructors any need for academic flexibility due to religious or cultural observances.” The note added that relief from an exam or assignment should be requested within the first two weeks of classes. The university and other state schools have a religious observance policy as mandated by state statute.
