TOWN OF VERMONT — There are sections of a stream in this western Dane County valley that are easily accessible to fish for brown trout, while other spots along the narrow 6-mile waterway are choked with brush, trees and invasive vegetation.
But in the next few years, a new stretch of Vermont Creek should be ready for anglers, thanks to the efforts of a church congregation that already has made big inroads in restoring acres of nearby woodlands and prairies.
