The 74th Annual Tour of Madison for New International Students was one of the largest tours in recent memory. An announced total of 358 student signed up for the tour, arriving at Engineering Hall on the University of Wisconsin campus on a sunny Labor Day afternoon to be introduced to their new home city. Christian communities active on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus were recognized in a short ceremony at Upper House on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. It came at the end of a presentation by UW Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Lori Reesor, on the importance of religion at public universities. The audience of 50 or so was made up of men and women from 13 different ministries involved in campus ministry on the Madison campus. The weather was perfect and the location right on target. Capital City Church (Assemblies of God) in Madison provided 32 helpers and Eagle Heights provided over 200 international residents in attendance for a sunny afternoon of various activities last Saturday.The outreach, targeted towards children, started off with a hot dog and Boca Burger cookout complete with fresh watermelon and cotton candy. Kids could then participate in various games such as a football toss, bow and arrow shooting and many more. Thousands of young men and women attend this conference. many missionaries, campus workers, pastors, and general servants of the Most High God can point to an Urbana conference as a tipping point in their journey with Jesus and their calling in God’s kingdom work.The Urbana conference is scheduled for this December.
