NEWS RELEASE
Madison, WI – Pro-life advocates in Madison will mark the middle of the nationwide 40 Days for Life Campaign with a prayer service outside of the East Side Madison Planned Parenthood at 12:00 a.m. Monday, October 22st.
40 Days for Life is a nationwide effort based on prayer and fasting in 89 cities and 33 states across America directed at opposing abortion in our society. A prayer vigil has been held outside the Planned Parenthood located at 3706 Orin Road in Madison around the clock since September 26th. The prayer vigil will continue 24 hours a day until November 4th.
Bishop Robert Morlino of the Diocese of Madison, who will lead the prayer service on Monday to mark the middle of the campaign, offered his support for the 40 Days for Life effort.
"During these 40 days, which will conclude on November 4, please remember to keep the cause of respect life very much in your thoughts and prayers, please try to do some extra penance during these days for this intention, and very importantly please check and see whether you can sign up to spend an hour at the Planned Parenthood clinic outside of the city of Madison and give witness to your own convictions about life and about the need to promote in every way in our culture and in our society a culture of life, and to overcome by the grace of Jesus Christ, and with a great deal of love and humility, the culture of death," said Bishop Morlino.
