madisonchristians.com was established to tell the story of Madison’s vibrant Christian community, particularly the evangelical Christian community. The activities of this coming weekend provide evidence of just how thriving that community can be here in “Mad City.”
Our calendar shows a major conference at Blackhawk Church called Pulse, with a music focus Friday and Saturday. And a major speaker appearing on the UW campus Friday night, sponsored by Geneva Campus Church and InterVarsity. In addition, on the east side, there’s the monthly Friday night worship event called Gates of Glory at Living Waters Church in Sun Prairie.
Pulse is a conference for music and the arts, featuring (among others) members of the Christian band Jars of Clay leading workshops. And much, much more: check out the website.
Geneva Forum features Mark Noll, author of The Scandal of the Evangelical Mind, speaking on “Christianity: Expanding Worldwide Yet Struggling in U.S. Universities.” His appearance is co-sponsored by the UW Faculty and Staff Fellowship and InterVarsity’s Graduate and Faculty Fellowship. Expect to hear some insights you haven’t heard before. The talk will take place at Morgridge Auditorium in Grainger Hall, on the UW-Madison campus. More information at their website.
Gates of Glory is a a simple evening of prayer and worship sponsored by a number of local congregations that believe we should spend more time seeking God. It changes location from month to month but it’s a great way to wind down your week. This Friday night Gates of Glory will be at Living Waters Church, 3075 Prospect Drive on the southwest side of Sun Prairie.
There’s no reason to stay home next weekend. Support one of these events with your presence.
