Madison’s most well known pastor of the last century is reaching his own century mark this month. December 19th is the 100th birthday of pastor Richard Pritchard, according to WSJ columnist Doug Moe. Pritchard, pastor at Westminster Presbyterian Church then Heritage Congregational Church, often called local reporters. Moe got his share of calls, and I know I did too.
In the late 19th century a book was written that popularized the question, “What would Jesus do?” In the late 20th century the trend returned. But Pritchard appeared to live it out throughout his 100 years, whether it was taking a stand for civil rights in the sixties, or standing up for public morality in the seventies and eighties. In the short history of this community news site, Pritchard has been in our news almost a half dozen times:

Moe’s column reports that the centennial celebration for pastor Pritchard will be Saturday, December 14th, at Capital Lakes apartments, 10am to noon. I hope it’s a great party!
