Pastors of 29 Madison area churches will gather at Lake City Church from 6-9pm next Sunday night, March 15, for an evening of prayer and worship called "Seeking God Together."
"It is going to be an unbelievable event," said pastor Tom Flaherty, the organizer. "I would encourage you to get there early."
Three worship teams will lead worship at different times throughout the evening. At other times 23 pastors will come to the microphone to pray, offer praise to God, and give Him adoration.
In the last year Flaherty has worked with local pastors to put together two other events aimed at building unity among the churches of Madison, a series of meetings called Return to God at Lake City Church last summer, and a Solemn Assembly at Bethesda Church last November.
In an interview with madisonchristians.com in January Flaherty said, I know how much effort has gone into reaching Madison for Christ. The reality is that we need a breakthrough in the spiritual realm. I don’t think one church is going to be able to do it."
In the interview, Flaherty also said that he believes local pastors are tired of business as usual. He believes the first step to a spiritual breakthrough is a unified outreach of praise and worship to God. "I am excited to see what God is going to do. Every pastor I’ve talked with is completely on board. It’s just profound," he said.
