If you live in the greater Madison area, I would like to encourage you to join Steve Freitag or myself as we spend five weeks discussing the dynamics of spiritual freedom beginning the week of June 19. Details on my class here. Details on Steve’s class here (pdf).
Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God-children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. — John 1:12-13
Happy Fathers Day to all you dads out there!
I was recently complaining to God about my trials. I won’t go into all the details, but suffice it to say that I had had enough. I’m not much of a crier, but I cried and cried for a long time. When I had pretty much cried myself out, I concluded that God wasn’t going to do anything for me.
Suddenly, I started laughing. I was laughing just as hard as I had been crying. A friend was praying with me, and after listening to me laugh out loud for about three or four minutes straight, he said, "You wanna let me in on this too?"
"I just sense that God is laughing," I said, "and I’m laughing with Him."
Then the Lord spoke to me, very quietly in my spirit: "I’ve got you just where I want you." Then we both started laughing again.
I walked away from that meeting with God freer than I had ever been before. My circumstances really hadn’t changed, but God changed me.
In our Father there is an ocean of inexhaustible joy. As His children, we drink from that fountain. God celebrates and we celebrate with Him.
Be encouraged!
