Happy Mothers Day to all you moms! We love and appreciate you!
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. — Ephesians 6:10
Our strength flows from our connection to God.
Isn’t it wonderful that God wants us to be strong! In the real world, the world that we can’t (usually) see with our eyes, we are tremendously powerful in the Lord. Because of our connection with Christ, because we are seated with Him in heavenly places, the powers of darkness are defenseless against us.
Their only real hope is deception. If they can get us to believe that we are something else other than who we truly are, then they have room to operate. If they can get us to believe that God’s love is unavailable, that God is distant, that our connection to Christ is a sham, then they can start pushing us around.
But when God strips away the lies, their power is gone. They have been disarmed, and, as we are armed with our true identity in Christ, they flee before us.
Consider the armor we have been given.
Truth. We don’t have to pretend. We don’t need theatrics. Here is the wonderful news: It’s all true. We really are new creations in Christ. God will make the truth clear to us. He is on a lifetime mission to do that for each of us.
Righteousness. That is who we are! It is not what we weakly hope for. It is our identity.
Peace. Good news. The natural outgrowth of a life connected with God.
Faith. A deep understanding of who we are, who God is, and how we are connected to Him.
Salvation. God fought for us and won the battle; we are forever safe in Him.
Word. The same power that brought forth the heavens and the earth is now at work in our lives, driving out the enemy and creating for us a brand new life.
Be encouraged!
