Safe Families for Children, a faith-based nonprofit that operates in 30 states, began partnering with religious outlets in southern Sauk County earlier this month in efforts to keep families together in crisis situations. But in the next few years, a new stretch of Vermont Creek should be ready for anglers, thanks to the efforts of a church congregation that already has made big inroads in restoring acres of nearby woodlands and prairies.
