Two churches in Iowa are challenging a state law that would censor churches from expressing biblical views on sexuality and gender identity – even from the pulpit. Fort Des Moines Church of Christ filed a federal lawsuit against the Iowa Civil Rights Commission on Monday, arguing that the agency’s interpretation of the Iowa Civil Rights Act prohibits church members from making public comments that could be viewed as unwelcome to people with gender identity issues.
This summer, a local Madison business will donate to non-profit organizations to help improve the Northside of the city. Boomerangs Resale Store, located at 1133 N. Thoughts from my prayer time this morning.What we see all around us is the human race desperate for our king. The human race is groaning for what was meant to be and for what will actually occur -the return of the King and the restoring of all things to wholeness as God originally intended. Most unbelievers are unaware that this is what they are groaning for, although I imagine that some do. Even many believers are not consciously aware that this is what they are desperately seeking.
The Madison Christian Giving Fund raises money to give it away to Christian non profits in Dane County. In 2015 the Fund raised over $120,000 from individual donors, foundations and businesses through payroll deduction campaigns. The Fund received over 50 applications for funds and after a thorough vetting process granted the money to 16 organizations in Dane County in 2016. MIDDLETON — A married couple from my church has slowly become homeless over the last two months, and I’m not sure I can do much. For over a decade at Gateway Community Church in Middleton, we have had a ministry for adults and teens with developmental disabilities. We call this ministry our “Hope Class.” Because of this class, we have been blessed to know and love many people with a variety of forms of autism, Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities.
