By Nicholas Garton – Capital Times – Christ the Solid Rock Baptist Church, a predominantly Black church in Madison, is looking for a new home after an alliance it formed with the mostly white Lake Edge United Church of Christ fell apart. Christ the Solid Rock has a congregation of about 300 total members, with approximately 150 attending worship services on Sundays. Lake Edge UCC currently has a membership of around 50 people. The two congregations share a building at 4200 Buckeye Road on Madison’s east side. Read more of this story.
