Franklin Graham, the son of Billy Graham and the president of the relief organization Samaritan’s Purse, has announced he is traveling to Madison and the other 49 state capitals to “proclaim the Gospel, rally prayer for our country, and encourage Christians to vote for candidates with biblical values.” The tour will take place in 2016.
He made the announcement in an email that was sent out to supporters today. The email linked to the homepage of what is being called The Decision America Tour . In a video on the Decision America website, Graham says, “We are not supporting any candidate. We are not supporting any party. We are going to lift up the name of Jesus Christ… We are encouraging Americans to pray.” Graham is shown speaking in front of the Pennsylvania state capitol in Harrisburg, where the motto “In God We Trust” is inscribed in stone.
“Together, we can mobilize the Church to not only get up and vote, but also to encourage Christians to run for political office at the local, state, and federal levels as well,” the email continued.
“Our country is in trouble. And to be honest, I don’t see any political solution. The only hope for this country is in Almighty God and His Son Jesus Christ.
Join me in praying for our country. It’s time to stand up and have our voice heard,” Graham concluded.
