Their progress developing residential transition housing for survivors of sex trafficking in Dane County is worth celebrating.
Madison, Wisconsin – Zeteo Community will raise awareness and funds for developing what will be the only residential transition housing of its kind in Wisconsin for women survivors of sex trafficking and their children. The public is invited to attend this celebration and vision-casting evening on Thursday, February 23, from 7:30–8:30 PM with heavy hors d’oeuvres beginning at 6:30 PM. The event will be held at The Tinsmith, 828 E Main St, Madison, WI 53703.
Individual tickets or corporate sponsorships are now open at www.ZCevent.org. The deadline for ticketing is February 15, 2023. Visit the website for additional details. The website also accepts donations without event tickets, for those wishing only to donate.
Presenters at the event will include founders Kenton and Marlene Sorenson, as well as law enforcement, and survivors of sex trafficking, all underscoring the critical and urgent need for these services in Dane County while also casting their vision and reporting on the progress of the project to date.
The founder and executive director of Zeteo Community, Marlene Sorenson, shares, “We have a lot to celebrate at this event! Not only obtaining property but forging wonderful partnerships within the community.” She goes on to explain, “We’ve been serving women and their children since 2018 and the need we are consistently seeing is for a safe and private place for women to find opportunities to heal and thrive on the road to recovery and independent living. We are on the brink of meeting this need!”
The theme of this year’s event is “Her Story…Her Home” and will focus on God’s faithfulness through the ministry of Zeteo Community. In 2022, Zeteo Community purchased the property on which they have plans to construct multi-unit residential housing, with trauma-informed care along with strength-based programming to come alongside survivors of sex trafficking. According to board member, Chris Lanser, “We are excited to move forward with the project, seeing God supply the resources to combat this awful reality in our own backyard. It’s going to be a powerful evening.”
