NEWS RELEASE
MADISON — The Family Research Institute of Wisconsin announced today that the statewide 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization has changed its name to Wisconsin Family Council, Inc.
“Although we’ve changed our name, our mission remains the same. We will continue forwarding Judeo-Christian principles and values,” said Julaine Appling, CEO of Wisconsin Family Council, Inc. “Our efforts to inform and involve Wisconsin citizens, churches and policymakers in preserving and strengthening marriage, family, life and liberty in the state of Wisconsin are ongoing. We have changed our name to better reflect who we are and what we do, as well as to better identify our national association as a state family policy council.”
Wisconsin Family Council’s national associations include Focus on the Family, Family Research Council and the Alliance Defense Fund.
Formerly known as The Family Research Institute of Wisconsin, Wisconsin Family Council, Inc. was recently awarded Focus on the Family’s State Family Policy Councils 2006 Community Impact Award for providing statewide leadership in support of Wisconsin’s Marriage Protection Amendment, which passed 59 percent to 41 percent in November 2006.
