The first Monday of May is celebrated as the National Day of Prayer and in the year 2020 there is a lot to pray about. But unlike other years, there will be no large gatherings at the state capitol building in Madison.
This year’s theme, “Pray God’s Glory Across the Earth”, is based on Habakkuk 2:14, and reminds us that this promise, “for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.” is for us today. National Day of Prayer (NDP) Task Force President, Kathy Branzell, said,“Unprecedented times call for unprecedented prayer! This years ‘virtual’ National Day of Prayer Observance may have more prayer –and more ‘pray-ers’ than ever before!”
Joleen Helbig, Wisconsin National Day of Prayer State Coordinator, has announced that there are three choices for participation, in addition to any local observances.
=> National Observance at 7pm Thursday Central Time. Watch here:
The national observance will also be broadcast, streamed and posted on many platforms, including on the NDP website, seen LIVE on the NDP Facebook page and cross-posted by many ministry partners. It will be viewed on television on GodTV, Daystar, NLC, and BrioTV, and on radio through Moody and Bott radio networks.
=> Statewide Zoom Call at Noon (in place of the usual rally at the state capitol)
Participants should join 5-10 minutes early in order to promptly begin at noon and end at 1 p.m. This will be hosted by Joleen Helbig – WI State Coordinator and Mary Naggatz – WI Capitol Coordinator.

=> Drive by Prayers
We are asking individuals, teams, or families to drive to the area being prayed for. We understand not everyone is comfortable driving, so you are welcome to pray at home. Just read and declare God’s word over the suggested area. A short prayer is given, but do pray as God leads. Download the “Drive-by-Prayer Guide here.
