Madison, WI 17 July 2012 — The first ever Lausanne Movement Consultation for North American Younger Leaders brings together a diverse collection of change agents, thought-practitioners, and younger leaders to strategize on fresh approaches to sharing the Christian message. The consultation will see 120 select younger leaders from the U.S. and Canada gathering at Madison’s Inn on the Park, July 24-26, 2012.
The 120 leaders will spend much of their time in working groups and focusing on issues such as: Ministry in the Workplace, Developing Christ-Centered Leaders, Discipleship, Reaching Cities, Truth in the Arts/Media, Unreached People Groups, and more. Each of the ten working groups, comprised of 12-15 participants, will include leaders from diverse backgrounds ethnically, geographically, and culturally. Participants come from numerous sectors of society—business, law, arts/media, education, church leadership, communications, and more. “Our hope is that God will inspire each of us in a fresh way, as we learn from one another and as we collaborate with one another in the areas we are the most passionate,” says Tom Lin, who is co-hosting the Consultation along with John Chung.
Tom is vice president for Missions for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA and a Madison resident. He serves as the Lausanne International Deputy Director for North America and is vice-chair of the board of Wycliffe Bible Translators. John Chung is minister of missions and young adults at Park Street Church in Boston. He serves on the boards of the U.S. Lausanne Committee (Mission America Coalition) and World Relief, an international relief and development organization.
The consultation will also feature a number of leaders sharing their own stories of being on mission with God and in partnership with others. These include:
· Nick Hall, Evangelist and Founder of the PULSE movement.
· Bethany Hoang, Director of the International Justice Mission Institute for Biblical Studies.
· Dharius Daniels, Senior Pastor and Founder of Kingdom Church in Ewing, New Jersey.
· Joycelin Ng, Director of Canada Student Forums, Ottawa Imago Dei, and Vancouver Arts Network.

Background
Lausanne is a global Movement that mobilizes evangelical leaders to collaborate for world evangelization. It grew out of the 1974 International Congress on World Evangelization convened in Lausanne, Switzerland by Rev. Billy Graham and Bishop Jack Dain. The Third Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization (October 2010) in Cape Town, South Africa, brought together 4000 Christian leaders, representing 198 countries. The resulting Cape Town Commitment (www.lausanne.org/ctcommitment) serves as the blueprint for the Movement’s activities.
