God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." — Hebrews 13:5b NIV
There is a voice that says, "I’ve been left all alone." For many people, this is the deepest fear. Abandoned and forsaken. This is the voice that makes us cling, hoping to never be left alone again.
But there is a Greater Voice that says, "Hey! I’m right here."
I watched a woman (this is on a DVD – contact me and I’ll tell you how you can order a copy if you want) walk through a memory where she was dropped off with a babysitter as her mother and her mother’s new boyfriend drove away laughing and enjoying themselves. There she stood, by the curb, alone and forlorn, feeling the pain of being excluded and abandoned.
As she stood there feeling the pain of that loneliness, the Lord’s quiet voice spoke to her. "I’m right here."
Suddenly, the pain was gone. No, it was more than gone. She burst out laughing. She looked at what her mother had and looked at what she had, and said, "I got the better deal! Mom just got the boyfriend, but I got Jesus."
Believe me, you got the better deal.
Be encouraged!
