17 Area Churches Represented at Habitat’s Building on Faith Day
[MADISON, WI] — The pounding nails and the sawing of wood will be added sounds downtown this Saturday as Habitat for Humanity of Dane County will be framing walls for its Building on Faith Day
More than 100 volunteers with 17 Madison area churches will be constructing walls for a future home that will be built this fall in the Twin Oaks subdivision, in southeast Madison. The home is being built with Jenice Anderson and her family.
Who: 17 Madison area churches: Bethany United Methodist, Bethel Lutheran, Blackhawk Church, Christ Presbyterian, First Congregational UCC, First United Methodist, Good Shepherd Lutheran, High Point Church, Lakeview Lutheran, Madison Christian Community, Middleton Community UCC, Monona United Methodist Church, Northside Christian Assembly Church, Orchard Ridge UCC, S.S. Morris Community A.M.E. Church, St. Dennis Catholic Parish and St. Stephen’s Lutheran – Monona.
When: Saturday, Sept. 18, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

What: Building on Faith Day
Habitat for Humanity of Dane County provides simple, decent, affordable housing for families who might not otherwise become homeowners. Eligible families pay monthly mortgage payments on a 0% interest loan, and contribute from 300 to 350 hours of sweat equity in the building of their homes. Building on Faith Day will go from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and be held on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., off the Capitol Square. Youth activities are also planned and Habitat will have an informational booth at the Farmer’s Market.
