That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched — this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. — 1 John 1:1
Please notice that our faith has roots in experience.
We don’t believe some spiritual-sounding idea that somebody cooked up a long time ago. The message came to us become someone had a life-changing experience with God.
When I was a little boy, my grandparents told me not to touch the cookstove. Why? Because somebody touched it, and somebody got burned. My grandmother offered me toast with sugar on it, and said, "I think you’ll like this." Why? Because someone already tasted that treat, and found it to be good.
Now today, God calls us back to experience Him. He wants us to see, to touch, to taste, to feel. Why? Many reasons, but here’s one: When we’ve experienced God, there’s a whole different quality to our message. As was said about Jesus, "He taught as One with authority, not as the scribes and pharisees."
Do you want to bring a life-changing message to your world? Then allow yourself to have life-changing experiences with God.
