This is my first blog posting to Madison Christians. I’ll be posting articles here weekly dealing with the Web and the Internet. I plan to write about things to help people use the World Wide Web, Internet and even some general computer help once in a while.
The Web is exciting because of its immense flow of information. It’s
truly amazing at how fast information flows now. Never in the history
of the world has there been the type of communication that we have
right now. The world is more connected than ever. This is both good and
bad. I’m reminded of how God divided people at the Tower of Babel
because they communicated really well and could accomplish just about
anything. We’re at that point again now after thousands of years, which
makes me wonder what God will do this time.
A little about me…
I’ve been on the web since the start. I made my first web site back in
1995. It looked horrible by today’s standards, but was pretty good for
back then. It contained an archice of background images for use on web
sites and was called "The Background Deli", Since there were not a
whole lot of web site around back then (comparatively), I had instant
traffic and many other sites linked to mine.
Fast forward to
now…. I’ve graduated from UW-Madison with a Bachelor’s in
Communication Arts, created the first Full Compass web site which
generated 700 new leads a week, have created several e-commerce sites,
am a part-owner of Webstix, Inc. and have a local, Madison web directory called MadisonClick.com that currently gets over 2000 unique vsitors a day.
There’s a lot of good and bad things out on the Web. Again, I hope to write about both and add m own insights.
God bless,
-Tony
