His [Moses’] sister stood at a distance to see what would happen to him. Then Pharaoh’s daughter went down to the Nile to bathe, and her attendants were walking along the river bank. She saw the basket among the reeds and sent her slave girl to get it. She opened it and saw the baby. He was crying, and she felt sorry for him. "This is one of the Hebrew babies," she said. Then his sister asked Pharaoh’s daughter, "Shall I go and get one of the Hebrew women to nurse the baby for you?" — Exodus 2:4-7
What went through Miriam’s mind when she saw the daughter of their oppressor reach out to take her brother?
God seems to delight in taking the least likely candidates and making them major players in the drama of life. Who would have guessed that the church’s #1 persecutor would become one of the greatest saints of all time? Who would have picked an obscure shepherd boy to become one of the greatest kings in history? Who would have guessed that a teenage Galileean girl would be chosen to carry the Gift of Life?
Give God room to fashion His miracle His way. He will surprise you. In the end, you will be delighted with what He does with the unlikely.
Be encouraged!
