Putting alleluias into action, three African-American churches in Milwaukee are riding reality television to a higher level by renovating their buildings through TV One network’s "Divine Restoration." Participating churches gather willing souls to do the labor. The production company provides a renovation producer to help with planning and seeks donated time, materials and appliances from manufacturers and businesses. DES MOINES, Iowa (BP)–A federal judge has ruled that Prison Fellowship’s InnerChange Freedom Initiative violates the First Amendment’s clause barring government from the establishment of religion and has ordered the program at an Iowa correctional facility be closed within 60 days and $1.5 million in state funds be repaid.
Two groups of dancers danced at the Madison House of Prayer for all Nations on Tuesday night. On the program was Dancing the Way, a ministry of My People International, composed of Native American Dancers. But before they started, a dance team from the House of Prayer welcomed them with an expression of repentance for the history of broken promises and broken relationships between the dominant culture and the native peoples.
As the summer approaches, Musalaha Reconciliation Ministries, which brings together young Israelis and Palestinians, is preparing for several major events this summer. A spokesman for the ministry says there are few opportunities for Israeli and Palestinian children to come together before they reach their teenage years.
