In the twenty-first century\, the vast majority of Christians live in the “Global South”—Asia\, Africa\, and Latin America. Yet in many conversations about “the Church\,” Americans tend to focus on themselves. \nIn this summer series of conversations Upper House will host five talks to explore some of the dominant social issues in the global church—issues that affect all Christians\, albeit in different ways depending on location. We’ll seek to learn from people in our community who have experience and expertise in other parts of the world\, hopefully challenging and enriching our understanding of the church here in Madison\, too. \nThere will be six sessions in all\, meeting every other Wednesday evening.

DESCRIPTION:You’re invited to join Lighthouse Church and School for Hallelujah Night— a Halloween alternative/worship service on Monday\, October 31\, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. \nHallelujah Night is free\, open to the public\, and hosted alongside Mt. Zion Baptist Church\, St. Luke’s Lutheran Church\, and perhaps other churches. During the event\, we will distribute candy (full bars) and other snacks\, set up activities for children of all ages (e.g.\, indoor bouncy house\, slime stations\, craft table [“Fall in Love with Jesus\, He Never Leaves]\, face painting)\, and conduct corporate worship (featuring\, “The Pumpkin Gospel.”) \nWe invite you to worship with us\, and/or co-sponsor the event through the provision of candy\, crafting supplies\, or financial support for the bouncy house.
